Pakharpura shuts on death anniversary of militant ‘Master Shakeel’

A complete shutdown was observed in Pakharpra area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday to pay tributes to a militant ‘Master Shakeel’ on his second death anniversary.

A complete shutdown was observed in Pakharpra area of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Sunday to pay tributes to a militant 'Master Shakeel' on his second death anniversary.

Shakeel Ahmad Wani alias 'Master Shakeel', a Jaish-e-Muhammad militant, was killed in a gunfight in Kellar area of Shopian in south Kashmir on January 15, 2015.

All shops and business establishments were shut and traffic remained off the roads.

Shutdown was also observed in other hamlets including Mohanpora, Aglar, Khaigam and Kanidajan.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people visited the house of slain militant's family to mourn his death.
