The death of a two year old baby due at Trauma hospital Kangan here triggered protest by attendants in the hospital.   The baby was admitted in the hospital in a serious condition. "The doctor on duty at the casualty attended the patient and advised medication. However, within few minutes the patient breathed his last," a group of doctors said. 

This angered the patients attendants who staged protest alleging that the patient died of medical negligence. "The hospital is ill-equipped and the patient died due to the negligence of doctors," the attendants alleged. Later, a police party reached the spot and pacified the protesters. 

The medical superintendent Trauma hospital Kangan Dr Qazi Javaid denied the allegations saying "the patient didn't die due to any medical negligence." 

"The patient was brought in a critical condition. Doctor on duty examined the patient in the casualty and immediately  gave nebulization and oxygen. However, the attendants were reluctant to accept the further advised of the doctor. Unfortunately in the meantime, the patient died and there is no fault of the doctor" Dr Javaid said. 

"The attendants misbehaved with the lady doctor on duty and tried to assault her," he alleged. SDPO Kangan Muhammad Umer Shah said that "the attendants of the patient held protest in the hospital, however they were pacified."
