Patwaris to go on pen down strike from May 14

Stating that government has failed to fulfill the promises made to them, All J&K Patwar Association Friday said that it is going on pen down strike from May 14, 2018.

“We have placed our demands before government time and again. We have presented memorandum of demands before everyone from divisional administration to Chief Minister,” said general secretary of the association Syed Danish Qadri in a handout.

He added that till date nothing has been done to fulfill their genuine demands despite being given assurances from time to time.

“The result is that Patwar Association is compelled to go on a day pen down token strike from Monday.  “Earlier, on the assurance of the then revenue minister Abdul Rehman Veeri AJKPA had deferred the strike with the hope that the demands would be met in the shortest possible time,” he added.

“AJKPA was assured that the grade pay issue will be resolved with the implementation of 7th pay commission but the promise was not fulfilled,” he said.

These demands of the association include grade pay of graduate Patwaris from 2400 to 2800, creation of GQ circles and Patwar Halqas, DPC of GQ’s  and Patwaries, abolition of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, rent for private accommodation of patwar khanas and enhancement of allowance. (GKNN)
