Power Development Department diploma engineers Monday expressed resentment against government order promoting only degree holder engineers.
“Administrative department PDD has issued promotion orders only for degree engineers against the available slots at AE level without releasing the due share in favour of diploma engineers on the false pretext that diploma engineers have exceeded the quota at AE level by virtue of cabinet decision No 165/21/2011 dated: 26-09-2011,” reads a handout.
It added that the vacant slots at AE level for degree engineers and diploma engineers works out as 28 and 29 respectively while around 25 posts are to be referred to Public Service Commission for direct recruitment.
“Without honoring the decision of the establishment cum selection committee, the administrative department has sought posting, details, APRs of 78 degree engineers only with clear apprehension of mis-utilising the posts meant for elevation of diploma engineers and even those to be referred to Public Service Commission,” it reads.
The aggrieved engineers have appealed the Governor to personally intervene in the matter in the interest of justice
