PDP accuses Cong of playing dubious role in Kathua case

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir accusing it of playing dubious role in Kuthua rape and murder case and hoodwinking the masses at large.

The PDP Srinagar district president and Upper House Member, Muhammad Khurshid Alam in a statement said the “dubious role being played by the Congress over the Kutua case is condemnable and the party once again has proved beyond doubt that it is carrying on with its legacy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound.”

Alam said at a time when several leaders of the Congress party in Jammu “defended the people who committed the heinous crime, party’s leadership in New Delhi continues to project itself as people’s savior.”

He said the Congress party has lost “moral ground” by maintaining “silence” about its leaders “taking part in the pro-rape and murder rallies.”

“The Congress party chief in J&K has defended those who committed the heinous crime against the eight- year old girl in Kuthua. If the central leadership of the Congress has a bit of morality, it must crack whip on him,” Alam said.

Alam said: “The invincible courage and determination of chief minister Mehbooba Mufti (in this regard) has dawned on every single person across the country and it is she who is standing on the ground firmly to give exemplary punishment to the persons involved in the gruesome Kuthua incident.” GKNN
