Senior National Conference leader Chaudary Muhammad Ramzan on Sunday alleged that erstwhile PDP-BJP regime shelved the construction of a sports stadium and stopped the work of district hospital Handwara.
“The work on a sports stadium was taken up by the erstwhileOmar Abdullah led NC-Congress coalition government when Rs 11 crore weretransferred into the account of additional deputy commissioner Handwara forexecuting the work but the previous PDP-BJP coalition government stopped thework and shelved the project with the promise that a software technology parkwould be built instead of a sports stadium,” Ramzan told KNS.
Alleging that neither the software technology park was builtnor the work on the sports stadium was restored, the NC leader said, “Similarlythe district hospital Handwara constructed by the erstwhile NC government wasalso bulldozed and virtually there are no medicare facilities available in thehospital as doctors posted at the hospital refer patients to main referralhospitals of Srinagar city.”
