PDP Minister Naeem Akhter Tuesday avoided direct answer to the query whether government will withdraw cases recently registered against persons for allegedly carrying bovine animals in Jammu region.

"The Supreme Court has put presently order of Jammu bench under suspension," he replied when reporters outside assembly asked him if government has any plans to withdraw the cases.

Pertinently, despite suspension of Jammu court order, four persons were arrested in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly trying to smuggle bovine animals into the Kashmir valley.

Akhter said that National Conference should reconsider its decision of boycotting rest of ongoing assembly session, when media persons asked as what would be the level of accountability on the floor of house in absence of opposition parties.
