Peoples Democratic Party Spokesman, Dr. Mehboob Baig has strongly rejected the allegation leveled by National Conference President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah that "youth in the Valley are being used by the PDP to enforce election boycott by luring them with money."

In a statement, Dr. Baig said "such a statement does not behove the stature Dr. Farooq Abdullah is enjoying." He said in 2010 also such a "weird and baseless" allegation was levelled by NC against PDP "but not an iota of evidence was provided to substantiate the charge." "PDP considers youth as a treasured asset of a society and the Party believes that only positive engagement with them can get the State out of the prevailing situations," he said.

The party spokesman said "such a statement from the NC President is aimed to sensationalise the public opinion and shift the focus of people from the daily changing stands of their Party leadership."
