PM Modi must respond to Imran’s gesture: Soz

Prof. Saifuddin Soz, former Union Minister, has said it was heartening to see that Imran Khan has remained consistent on his line of thinking for promoting friendship with India since he took his oath on 18 August 2018 as PM.

“In his first public utterance as Pak PM, he had offered PMModi to build an atmosphere of hope and fulfillment through peace andcordiality for betterment of their peoples. Today, with his spectacular successat the hustings, PM Modi is expected to show his will to sort out all issueswith Pakistan, including Kashmir.

“On this side of India, the people of Kashmir in one voicehave already unequivocally declared that Kashmir is a dispute and it has to beresolved through discussion and dialogue. Many knowledgeable observers give lotof weightage to Pak PM’s gesture for peace and friendship with India inspite ofthe fact that Modi had coasted to a landmark win on the back of a nationalist,anti-Pakistan rhetoric and a vision of, what many foreign observers call a’Hindu-First India’.”The continuous bloodshed in Kashmir can neveradd up to a feather in his (Modi’s) cap. The bloodshed in Kashmir must stop,”Soz said.
