Police accords farewell to Ghulam Hassan Bhat on superannuation

J&K police accorded a warm send off to Ghulam Hassan Bhat, deputy inspector general (DIG) central Kashmir (now IG) on his superannuation from services on Wednesday.

Hailing from Tral, Bhat started his journey in police department in 1984 as Dy SP and retired from the department as Inspector General of Police after over 34 years of service. 

   

During his illustrious career, he held many key positions in the department which include Dy SP police headquarter, Baramulla and Pulwama, SDPO Kothi Bagh, Dy SP CID, SP security Kashmir, SP CID CI, Jammu, SSP police control room Kashmir and SSP Anantnag, SSP traffic Kashmir, SSP vigilance Kashmir, AIG personnel, DIG north Kashmir and DIG central Kashmir. He was also holding charge of DIG traffic for past two years. 

Bhat has been recipient of DGP medal and governors medal for best performance, chief minister medal, Sher-e-Kashmir police medal for meritorious services, presidential police medal for meritorious services, Sher-e-Kashmir medal for gallantry and presidential police medal for distinguished services,  

Today, a function was organised by Kashmir zone police to accord send off to Bhat for his relentless contribution to the department. “The department feels proud for he has tirelessly worked for the welfare of officials and taken measures for effective implementation of policing,” said a statement issued by police today.

The function was attended by IGP Kashmir SP Pani, DIG south Kashmir Amit Kumar, VK Birdi and other senior police officers.
