Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Pulwama has arrested five persons during raids in different areas of Pulwama.
A police spokesman said that five accused were apprehended for the drug supply offences. Theyhave been taken to Police Station Pulwama where they remain in custody.
“Officers have seized 86.4 Kilograms of Poppy straw andbanned pharmaceutical substances from their possession. Case FIR No’s. 123/19, 124/19, 126/19, 127/19, 130/19 underrelevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Pulwama andinitiated investigations in the matter,” the spokesman added.
He said, “Community members are requested to come forwardwith any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Personsfound indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.”
BUDGAM POLICE ARREST 7 PERSONS
Meanwhile, Budgam Police in the recent days have registered5 FIRs against illegal excavators across the jurisdiction of Police Station, apolice spokesman said.
He said that Police have arrested 6 persons in these cases.Four JCB machines used for excavation and nine dumpers (tippers) involved inillegal transportation of clay have also been seized.
Moreover, Budgam police have arrested a notorious criminalinvolved in illegal excavation of clay over many years. Six FIRs standsregistered against him. He was produced before the competent court of law.
