Hurriyat Conference (M) has condemned house arrest of its chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who was scheduled to visit Kakapora to pay tributes to Talib Shah who was killed in encounter with forces recently.
Mirwaiz was scheduled to visit the family of Talib Ahmad Shah," Hurriyat (M) spokesman said in a statement and termed the house arrest of Mirwaiz as 'completely fascist'.
He added that "the regime has once again, by repressive measures, put restrictions on the legitimate activities of chairman APHC."
Meanwhile, a Hurriyat (M) delegation led by its leader Javed Ahmad Mir and others including Jaffer Kashmiri today visited Kakapora and paid tributes to Talib Shah 'for his supreme sacrifice.'
On the occasion, Mir said "continuous suppression and dictatorial methods in Kashmir are compelling younger generation to adopt militancy. Kashmir issue is a living reality and sooner the leadership of India realizes it, the better it would be for permanent peace and stability in the South Asian region.
