Police post at BJP leader’s house attacked

Militants attacked a police post at the residence of BJP leader in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on  Sunday. A police official said that around 8:20 pm militants, believed to be 2 to 3 in number, fired upon a police post outside the residence of the BJP leader GulzarAhmad  Nengroo at Pirchoo village.

“The  policemen retaliated the fire, forcing the militants to flee from the spot,” the official said.

   

“No loss of life or injuries were reported” he added.

District police chief Mohammad AslamChoudary said that the attack was possibly  a rifle snatching bid that was foiled by the alert police men. 

On July 16, militants attacked the former law maker of National Conference in MuranChowkPulwama and snatched two rifles from his security guards. One of his guard was also killed in the attack.

In a similar attack, militants killed the former PDP leader GhulamNabi Patel in Rajpora area of Pulwama district.
