Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday sought the help of general public in tracing a boy missing since July 4.

"One person Aabid Ali Sheikh, In-charge Shahjar Home Inderhama Hostel of boarding school Shahjar, reported in Police Station Zakoora that a student Altaf Ahmad Mir (14), son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Magam, Handwara has gone missing after leaving for school, located at Khanyar, (Govt School Khaliqpora Khanyar) from his hostel," said a police spokesman.

"The boy is wearing grey trouser, check shirt (school uniform) and is about 5 feet tall," he said.

An FIR has been registered in Police Station Zakoora in this regard and investigation has been started, he said.

"Anybody having any information regarding the missing boy may kindly inform Police Station Zakoora on 9596770589, PCR Srinagar on 9596222550, 9596222551 or Police Control Room Kashmir on '100'."
