Police seize 35 vehicles in Awantipora

To check the menace of traffic violations and ensuring safety of people, Jammu and Kashmir police during its special drive seized 35 vehicles in jurisdiction of police district Awantipora.

The vehicles were seized for violating traffic rules and regulations in Tral, Awantipora and Pampore townships. 

   

Police said that on the directions of superintendent of police Awantipora, Mohammad Zahid Malik, different teams of police station Tral, Awantipora and Pampore laid special mobile nakas on different locations and seized 35 two-wheelers and four-wheelers for violating traffic norms.

The teams laid nakas on different routes and locations in and around these townships and inspected documents of drivers plying on road which include driving licenses of drivers, use of helmet, registration certificates, insurance and pollution control documents.

“During these nakas, 56 vehicles were challaned while 35 have been seized for serious violation of traffic norms,” police informed.  

The main aim of this drive was to check driving by minors and those people who do not possess valid documents, said SP Awantipora Mohammad Zahid Malik.

The SP has appealed all the parents not to give vehicles to their minor wards and also informed that these drives will continue against traffic rules violation.
