Diploma students of 6th semester enrolled in various polytechnic colleges Friday appealed the Technical Education Board to defer their examinations, as they are able to complete their studies due to the prevailing situation.

A delegation of students told greater Kashmir that their exams are scheduled to be commenced from coming Monday (October 17).

"The date sheet was shot to us through SMS. Most of the students are from far-flung areas. They cannot make it to examinations centres due to present unrest in Kashmir," said a student, who was part of the delegation.

They added that they have time and again taken up the matter with concerned authorities but to no avail.

The students said there is no way that in the prevailing situation they will be able to come from farflung areas to attend the examination without availability of any transport.
