Poor visibility affects air traffic at Srinagar airport for second consecutive day

Air traffic to and fro Srinagar remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Monday due to poor visibility caused by snowfall, officials said.

“The runway has been cleared of snow but flight operations had to be cancelled due to poor visibility,” an official of Airport Authority of India told PTI.

He said the flight operations will resume on Tuesday if the visibility improved and subject to conducive weather conditions.

Flights operations had to be cancelled on Sunday due to snowfall across the valley.

The MeT Office here has said moderate to heavy snowfall, with isolated very heavy snowfall, was most likely to take place over two days from Monday.
