The residents of this frontier tehsil have expressed dismay over unscheduled power cuts. According to the locals, frequent power cuts have been a major irritant for the past one month.
"We are at receiving the end despite the fact that we pay exorbitant electricity bills. You cannot do without electricity. Right now we receive power for 3 to 5 hours a day. It should be at least 8 to 10 hours," Zahoor a local resident said.
Pertinently, a 33 KVA transmission line which feeds electricity to Tanghdar and adjoining areas is carried by a single iron pole, which according to the locals, falls every now and then.
The concerned Executive Engineer said that the department was short of funds and could not undertake the necessary works for the time being.
The locals have demanded appropriate and immediate measures.
