Senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party Muhammad SartajMadni on Tuesday said that if the incumbent government ignores the demand of granting divisional status to Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley it could sow seeds of discord for future.

In a statement Madni accused the Governor's administration of functioning without taking public sentiment into consideration or assessment of requirements on ground.  "Such way of functioning is causing tensions and sowing seeds of discord in the already sensitive state having a very peculiar socio political architecture," he added. Madni said that "we welcome that Ladakh has been declared a s division but at the same time it's unfortunate that the Governor's administration has ignored the development deficit in Pir Panchal and in Chenab Valley.  By ignoring these regions , the administration is creating new fault lines in the state which could have far reaching consequences."

The PDP leader said that the "short sighted" decisions taken by the Governor's administration has gone against the public sentiment or the actual requirements.
