Parents whose wards are enrolled in various private schools in Srinagar Saturday appealed Director Education Kashmir to check the "harassment" by schools as the management is including transport fees apart from tuition and other charges.

"From June 15, summer vacations were declared in schools falling in Kashmir region. Subsequently, the present unrest started in Kashmir from July 8, this year," said a group of parents.

They added that various private schools are forcing them to pay transport charges of these two months. "The fact is that students have not availed any transport facility provided by the school from past two months," they said.

They added that some schools have also pasted posters at the school main gates, asking parents to note syllabus.

"It was better to provide assignments and question answers to the students so that they could prepare for upcoming examinations," they said.
