Protests broke out during a shutdown in Anantnag town on Saturday against the attacks on Kashmiris in Jammu and other states.
Shopkeepers in Lal Chowk and other old town areas downed their shutters to protest the attacks.
In Lal Chowk, the protesters clashed with government forces. Local residents alleged that the CRPF soldiers and policemen went berserk and beat up pedestrians and also damaged several vehicles.
