Protests were held amid a shutdown in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday against the arrests of seven youth by the government forces during clashes following a bank heist in Qaimoh area.
Reports said that seven college-going students were detained near SKUAST, Khudwani today morning during clashes that erupted following a bank heist in nearby Qaimoh area.
Unknown gunmen looted nearly six lakh rupees from a branch of State Bank of India in Qaimoh today.
As the news of arrests spread in the area, people took to streets and staged protests, demanding their release. A spontaneous shutdown was also observed in the area against the arrests.
