Protests in Ganderbal district against poor water, power supply

The residents of Kangan town in Ganderbal district complained on Saturday that the drinking water being supplied to them was contaminated.

A delegation told Greater Kashmir that unfiltered water was being supplied to the Kangan town for the past two days, putting the life of residents at risk.

   

Feroz Ahmad, AEE PHE Kangan, said that men were on the job to repair two motors in the local filtration plant which have got damaged due to frost.

Meanwhile, residents of Nagbal, Bokdapati Sumbal and Margund blocked traffic on Srinagar-Sonamarag road to demand proper electricity in their localities.

“We are tired of frequent power cuts,” they said.
