Pulwama Fidayeen Attack: DG CRPF visits Lethpora camp

DG CRPF, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today visited the Lethpora camp where he was briefed about the operation against militants which lasted for almost 36 hours. 

“He took stock of the buildings and the incident site. He was briefed about the sequence of events, how all three terrorists were neutralized and what roles were played by different teams,” a CRPF spokesman said in a statement today.

   

The camp was attacked by three Fidayeen militants on Sunday and five CRPF paramilitary men were killed in the pro-longed gunfight that ended on Monday.

“Bhatnagar applauded the gallant action of the officers and jawans who actively participated in the operation. He also awarded the brave officers and jawans with DG’s Commendation Disc and Certificate. Ravideep Singh Sahi IG CRPF Srinagar Sector, A.S.Negi DIG SKOR CRPF and S.P.Pani DIG SKR JKP were amongst the recipients. Cash rewards were also given to the jawans. Bhatnagar highlighted the supreme sacrifice made by the martyrs and assured that the best possible care will be taken of the NOKs,” the CRPF spokesman said.

DG CRPF WAS ACCOMPANIED BY IG OPERATIONS CRPF HQ AND RAVIDEEP SINGH SAHI IG CRPF SRINAGAR SECTOR.

“While interacting with the media, Bhatnagar applauded the gallant and swift action of the troops and also emphasised upon the dedication of CRPF in fighting militancy alongwith army and JKP since all these forces are having good synergy which will definitely give desired results,” the statement said.
