‘Punish those who blinded us’
Jammu and Kashmir Pellet Victims Association have demanded punishment to the forces who fired pellets on people during last year's uprising in Kashmir.
"Is it democracy to blind children, youth and aged by firing pellets? Which democracy allows maiming and blinding of students, depriving them of education and making them dependent for whole life," spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Pellet Victims Association said in a statement.
"On this day, we demand that the forces who blinded people by pellets should be punished so that no one loses eyesight in future. From July last year to November, over 100 persons were killed and thousands injured and many blinded. We impress upon human rights groups to take measures for safeguarding precious lives and eyes of people in Kashmir by impressing upon India to stop excesses," the statement added.
