‘Qurrah’ for Hajj pilgrims tomorrow

Executive officer of the J&K Hajj committee on Wednesday said that draw of lots (qurrah) for all intending pilgrims has been fixed on 19 January from 12 noon onwards.

“The draw of lots, to be held on the Hajj committee of India server located at Hajj House Mumbai, would be displayed on a real-time basis. The applicants can confirm their status on www.hajcommittee.com and www.jkshc.com later in the evening on the same day,” he said.

   

The list of selected applicants shall be published in local newspapers the next day and shall also be displayed on the notice board at the state Hajj committee immediately after ‘qurrah’ in completed.

The Hajj committee has received 32332 applications (30373 in general category and 1959 in reserved category A, which is 70-year-plus applicants).

The officer said that on basis of percentage of Muslim population in J&K, 6,163 Hajj seats have been allocated as basic Hajj quota for the state. Besides this, 3,610 seats have been allotted as special quota and from under the ‘Quota States’, making an aggregate of 9773 seats.

1,959 seats have to be reserved for pilgrims registered under the reserved category A.

“As per Hajj guidelines, the remaining 7814 seats are to be distributed among all district of the state, according to the percentage of Muslim population,” he said.
