Repealing PSA, big announcement: Ahsan Pardesi

National Conference youth provincial vice president Kashmir Ahsan Pardesi has said that Omar Abdullah’s statement regarding doing away with Public Safety Act is much needed measure to build trust.

“If NC is voted to power with majority in the upcoming state assembly elections, it  will repeal the controversial Public Safety Act,” Omar had said recently.

“This step will help in building trust in youth and will be a big confidence building measure,” Pardesi said in a statement and termed it as a “big announcement which needs political acumen and guts.”

Pardesi added Omar Abdullah’s endeavor to reach out to youth of Kashmir is appreciable and has always been his priority. “It was during Omar Abdullah regime that quantum of sentence in PSA was reduced and it was only Omar Abdullah who started EDI among other initiatives to help youth in building their own careers apart from government jobs,” he said.

Pardesi said that Omar is best suited to cater to the aspirations of youth and help them bridge a gap between youth and establishment.
