Residents of transit accommodation Wandhama face water shortage, power cuts

Srinagar, Mar 3: The residents of transit accommodation Wandhama, Ganderbal, are facing shortage of water and power cuts in the past few days.

“While acknowledging your dedication and punctuality in managing our community, we bring urgent issues to your attention. The current lack of essential facilities—water and electricity—has created significant challenges for us, the residents of Transit Accommodation Wandhama,” they said.

They said over the past 2 to 3 days, “a severe shortage of fresh water, coupled with muddy supplies from underground tanks, poses health risks.”

“Frequent 10 to 12-hour power cuts have become the norm, compelling residents to resort to candlelight dinners. As inhabitants, this is more than a transit camp; it’s our home. Clean water and reliable electricity are indispensable for our well-being, especially during this festive period,” they added.

“We trust in your swift action to address these concerns, ensuring the provision of basic amenities to all residents,” they said.
