The Joint resistance leadership on Thursday called for peaceful protests after congregational prayers tomorrow against the killing of a minor girl and injuries to her brother during a gunfight in Kupwara.
A spokesman said that "it (the killing of the girl) is the outcome of recent threat statement of Indian army chief."
The leadership, he said, has demanded an impartial probe into the innocent killings.
"The state authorities in no way could deliver justice as "they are dishonest and irrelevant. We reject any such inquiry declared by state authorities as they are insincere and not trust worthy," he quoted the leaders as saying.
