Chairman of Peoples Democratic Front Hakeem Yaseen on Sunday castigated Government for withdrawing security of political leaders during election time.
In a statement Hakeem Yaseen said that withdrawing securitywould further restrict field movement of politicians for electioneering. “The decision to withdraw and curtailsecurity to politicians has made them more vulnerable to threats owning to theprevailing abnormal security and law and order situation in the stateparticularly in Kashmir,” he added.
Yaseen urged the government to restore the security of thepoliticians so that they can fully take part in election campaign in the state.
He also urged the government to revoke the ban on themovement of civilian vehicles on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. “If there is aserious security threat on the highway that has been blocked for civiliantraffic twice a week then how come political leaders, whose security has beenwithdrawn are secure. This double speakof the government is beyond comprehension.Withdrawal of security of political leaders and restriction on civilian trafficmovement is a matter of great concern,” Yaseen added.
