Revenue officials, beneficiaries booked for grabbing state land in Pahalgam

Crime Branch Kashmir today registered a case against some revenue officials and two beneficiaries for illegally transferring state land at Pahalgam in favour of the latter.

According to an official communiqué, the Crime Branch Kashmir received a complaint from inhabitants of village Nunwan Pahalgam Anantnag.

   

“The complaint inter-alia reveals that in Jamabandi of the year 1969-70 few fictitious surveys were made in favour of Salam-Din and others R/O Khanabal Anantnag and Ab. Rehman R/O Kanelwan Bijbehara by the revenue officials in connivance with the beneficiaries. The land has been illegally occupied by the said persons. Subsequently a preliminary enquiry was initiated and it came to fore that the land in question has been mutated in favour of the accused fraudulently by the officials, thereby misusing their official position,” an official spokesman said.
