The Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Aasiya Andrabi today said the cold-blooded murder of Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Chattabal here by the forces has belied the government claim that 'armed forces in Kashmir kill people in self-defense'.
The martyrdom of Farooq Ahmad of Lethpora and Riyaz Ahmad Shah of Chattabal and the brutality unleashed by forces in Kulgam injuring more than 150 people is yet another example of oppression and brutality. These acts are highly condemnable," Aasiya Andrabi, said in a statement. "The killing of Riyaz Ahmad Shah is an eye-opener for those who justify killing of innocent civilians by forces as an act of self-defense. Mehbooba Mufti should hang her head in shame as she continues to justify these cold-blooded murders every now and then," Aasiya said, adding that "Earlier, these forces dragged Aamir Ahmad Latoo of Bijbehara, Sajad Ahmad Thokar of Utterasoo, Shangus, Shabir Ahmad and Hilal Ahmad of Tengpora from their homes and killed them on the roads. They were fired upon from close range and were left to die on roads."
Aasiya urged the Muslims of Chenab valley, Kargil and Jammu province to follow the programmes issued by the resistance leadership in letter and spirit.
