SAC approves posting of Suresh Chug as PCCF (Territorial) JK

The State Administrative Council (SAC), which met here today under the chairmanship of Governor, Satya Pal Malik approved the posting of Suresh Chug, IFS, as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Territorial), J&K. The officer shall continue to hold the charge of Managing Director J&K SFC, till further orders.

Suresh Chugh (IFS, 1985) is designated IT and e-governance expert for the department of forests. He has won the first e-Governance Award for the State in 2012.

   

He has authored a number of important Documents for the Department like Green India Mission, State Climate Change-Action Plan. Adaptation and Mitigation Proposals, First ever State of Environment Report of J&K, Forest Protection Force Act, Guidelines for Forest (Conservation) Act and CAMPA. State Wildlife Act, 1978 as amended in 2002, Carbon Inventory of J&K 2012, Rapid Assessment of Floods of J&K 2014 in association with ISRO. He was instrumental in setting up of the State Climate Change Centre with the funding from Ministry of Science and Technology GOl. He worked for shifting of Sheep Breeding Farm from Dachigam National Park which was achieved after 40 years of efforts and it has given new hope to the endemic Hangul population.
