A day after traffic movement on Sonamarg-Drass stretch of Srinagar leh highway was restored after remaining closed for six consecutive days, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan crossed the Zojila highway stretch and reached Kargil on Thursday.
The highway remained closed since last Friday after heavy snowfall followed by massive snow slides on the Sonamarg-Drass stretch of the highway. The traffic movement on the stretch was allowed on Friday for light vehicles from both sides.
Salman Khan had reached Sonamarg on April 23 along with actress Jacqueline Fernandez for shooting their film Race -3. The actors and the crew stayed in Sonamarg for three days and were waiting for the re-opening of the highway. They were scheduled to travel to Ladakh for shooting the remaining part of the film. Race-3 is scheduled to be released in June this year.
