Government forces on Wednesday evening launched cordon and search operation at Zodar village of Mir Bazar under police district Kulgam.
An official while confirming the cordon-and-search operation in the area said following specific inputs about the presence of militants massive forces were deployed in the area to conduct house-to-house searches. Forces comprising Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu & Kashmir police, army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jointly launched the operation. As per locals, the searches were carried out many times in the area. The forces had sealed all the entry and exit points. The operation in the village was going on when this report was being filed.
