Secular forces will win this election: Mir

Stating that secular forces will win this election, Jammu and Kashmir Congress party president Ghulam Ahmad Mir Wednesday said that his party will give a tough fight to the National Conference.

He said there was no hidden alliance between NC andCongress, and there will be a tough fight on Baramulla, Anantnag and Ladakhseats where the two parties do not have a seat-sharing agreement like on twoJammu seats.

   

Mir said that party is not contesting on the Srinagar seatunder the agreement.

“So far there is no alliance. Let elections end. Secularforces led by Rahul Gandhi will win these elections,” he said. 

Addressing the leaders and workers, Mir described theCongress party as the only unifying force in the country and state, which hasserved the people. “We will continue to serve them to the best of our ability,”he said.

He said Congress is the only party capable of defeating the”communal and fascist” forces and will also continue to fight the forces thatwant to divide the country and people for power.

On this occasion, senior leaders Haji Abdul Rashid Dar,Usman Majeed, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Farooq Andrabi and otherswere present.

On the occasion, besides former IAS officer Vinod Koul,advocate Gowhar (Wachi), Muhammad Ayoub Matta, Jehangir Danish, Zaffar FarooqSlathi, Irshad Ahmad Wani (Langate) Tanveer Ahmad Khan Shangus, Syed Shafi(Bandipora), Tariq Ahmad (Bandipora), Choudhary Abdul Hamid Chara (sarpanchShangus) and Amood Gulzar (Tangmarg) joined Congress.
