Sehrai concerned over loss of life, property along LoC

Chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai hasexpressed deep concern and pain over the loss of life and property along theLine of Control (LoC) due to heightened border skirmishes between India andPakistan.

In a statement Sehrai said that “life has turned into anightmare for border residents, which needs to be protected and respected. The hostileatmosphere that has been created on the borders, presumably more often than notfor the sheer political purposes, is taking a heavy toll on the civilianpopulations living on both sides of the borders. This is a human problem thatneeds a humane approach.”

Sehrai appealed and stressed upon the leadership of both thecountries to exhibit political maturity at this point of time. “Major cause ofconfrontation between India and Pakistan was the Kashmir issue which ispolitical in nature, cannot be settled through skirmishes on the borders. Onlyserious negotiations and a meaningful dialogue is the way forward which holdsthe key. We have repeatedly said that Kashmir is a political issue andhumanitarian issue and there is no military solution to it,” he added.

“Every human life is precious. Who would understand thispain more than Kashmiris, who have only seen funerals and graves since threedecades,” he added.

Sehrai, expressed his heartfelt condolence and solidaritywith the families who lost their dear ones and property during the borderskirmishes and prayed for the innocent souls.
