In wake of hundreds of people sustaining pellet injuries in the forces action during the past few days, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday asked New Delhi to send a specialized team of surgeons from New Delhi and other parts of the country to Kashmir to take care of the injured persons.

In wake of hundreds of people sustaining pellet injuries in the forces action during the past few days, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday asked New Delhi to send a specialized team of surgeons from New Delhi and other parts of the country to Kashmir to take care of the injured persons.

An official spokesman said Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti spoke to the Union Health Minister, J P Nadda this morning requesting him to send a specialized team of doctors including retina surgeons to Kashmir to take care of the injured who have suffered ophthalmic and other traumas.

"We are expecting these specialized doctors to arrive here today and get down to the job immediately," the spokesman quoted officials of the Health department as having said.

He said on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Government is also facilitating shifting of any injured person outside the state, who needs super-specialized treatment, not available locally.
