Senior citizens present Dogri play

Jammu, Nov 6: Senior Citizens Support Service Club, in collaboration with Viraj Kala Kendra Monday presented a Dogri play ‘Shah-Shani’ at their premises at Chowadi, Jammu.

This play highlights the significance of Dogri language and the culture which strengthens and unites the people across borders, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. The play, with a comical touch, revolves around two individuals who got separated during 1947 and met after 60 years and that too just for a day or so.

   

Rajneesh Gupta and Meera Tapsavi touched the hearts of the audience with their performance. The hilarious play made all the senior citizens laugh and revel in its essence.

Dr Kasturi Lal, chairman, made all the arrangements for the play. Ashok Gupta delivered the welcome address while Maj Gen S K Sharma ably conducted the proceedings. General secretary Prof HC Vaid too attended the felicitation ceremony in the end.

Rekha Sharma, Amit Bhalla, Tarun Charak, Rishab Manhas, Madan Rangila, Shammi Dameer, Yuvraj Gupta and Suhani Rathore were among other actors who participated in the play.

S K Sharma, former Income tax Commissioner, Professor Veena Gupta and Santosh Sangra were among the prominent guests. In the end, the actors were felicitated with the trophies.
