Scores of separatist leaders continue to remain under house detention or are languishing in different jails across the Valley.

However, following the improvement in the situation, the authorities have released scores of separatist leaders including Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq, JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik and others, who were arrested in view of the uprising in the Valley that triggered following the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani in an encounter on July 8 this year.

The separatist leaders including Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat general secretary, Muhammad Ashraf Sehari and media advisor of Hurriyat (M), Advocate Shahid Ul Islam continue to remain under house arrest.

Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar and JKLF senior leader, Noor Muhammad Kalwal are languishing in Kot Bolwal jail in Jammu under PSA.

Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman, Shabir Shah and senior JKLF leader, Bashir Bhat are languishing in Rajbagh Police Station while JKLF leader, Showkat Bakshi is languishing in Srinagar's Central Jail.

Meanwhile, despite High Court has quashed PSA of Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief, Syedah Aasyia Andrabi, the authorities continue to out her in Police custody. KNS
