Urging the government to do the restructuring of KPS on the analog of KAS, Peoples Democratic Front president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Muhammad Yasin today said "the differences within the PDP-BJP alliance government over the issue has once again brought to the fore that the coalition has inherited contradictions."
The PDF president in a statement said, "when government has kept seats reserved to get the rank of IAS officers for KAS officers who also get selected through the Combined Entrance Examination, why an issue has been created over KPS restructuring. Service grievances of the KPS officers are justified and some promotional aspect should be kept for them."
He added that Chief Minister shouldn't have walked out of the cabinet meeting and instead should implement the decisions. "Otherwise, the authority of the Chief Minister gets undermined. If on a small administrative issue, the Chief Minister can't take a decision and has to leave the meeting how can bigger issues be settled by this government," Yasin asked.
He also expressed serious concern over the treatment meted out to Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi by an officer of J&K police at Udhampur. He demanded a time bound probe into the incident and said government should ensure such incidents are not repeated.
