Seven soldiers wounded after militants trigger IED blast in Pulwama village

Seven soldiers were wounded after militants on Thursday night tried to blow up a bunker vehicle of army in Trichal village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district by detonating an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and opening fire.

A police official said that around 9:50 pm militants triggered an IED planted under a bridge on Trichal-Lassipora road when an armoured vehicle (Casper) of 55 RR was crossing the bridge.

   

Soon after the blast, militants fired upon the vehicle, the official said, adding that army soldiers also returned the fire.

He said seven soldiers were wounded in the attack.
