Police in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla districthave arrested several persons for defying lockdown imposed in view of Covid-19pandemic by attending the last rites of a militant on Wednesday, an officialsaid today.
He said night raids were conducted in Zaingeer area ofSopore in which several persons were held. He said those held had violated thesocial distancing protocols.
The police in Sopore had earlier lodged a First InformationReport (FIR) after a video surfaced in which hundreds of people were seengathered at the funeral of Jaish militant in Arampora village.
