Several injured in clashes near Shopian gunfight site, one referred to Srinagar

Several civilians were injured, one of them critically, in clashes near the site of a gunfight in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday.

Reports said that a civilian, identified as Asif Ahmad Mir (21), son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Rahmoo Pulwama, was hit by a bullet in his head during the clashes that erupted soon after the gunfight between militants and the government forces.

   

He was shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar, they said.

Sources at district hospital Shopian said that four injured with pellet injuries in legs were brought to the facility.

Reports said that many injured have been shifted to a hospital in Pulwama.
