Srinagar: Inhabitants of Bhat Mohalla, Tulsi Mohalla, Mir Mohalla, Khan Mohalla and Shadaab Kerawa villages in Shopain Thursday appealed the Deputy Commissioner Shopian to direct the concerned officials to restore normal water supply to the village forthwith.
A delegation from the village led by Peerzada Ajaz told Greater Kashmir that the village was facing water scarcity for the past 10 days.
“We have brought our grievance and demand in the notice of the concerned authorities. However, our pleas have fallen to deaf ears,” he said.
He said that the villagers had to fetch water from 4 km away by using load carriers for this purpose.
The villagers appealed the Deputy Commissioner Shopian to intervene personally and direct the concerned officials to restore normal water supply to the village without any further delay.
