Kupwara, Feb 18: Smuggled timber was seized in Yahama area of Handwara, police said on Saturday.
An official said that following an information regarding illicit timber lying in the premises of one person Amir Aziz Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz resident of Yahama, they deputed a police party from Qalamabad Police Station and recovered 50 number of illicit logs.
He said that a case FIR No.09/2023 U/S 379 IPC, 26 IF Act has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion.
