Soldier, civilian injured after militants attack army camp in Pulwama

A soldier and a civilian were injured after militants attacked an army camp in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday night.

Reports said that suspected militants opened fire at the army’s 50 RR camp at Kakapora around 10:15 pm.

   

SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudhary, according to GNS news agency, said that the militants fired upon the army camp late in the night.

The fire was retaliated by the army, leading to a brief shootout.

In the incident, a soldier and a civilian were injured, said Choudhary, adding that the civilian suffered a bullet injury.

Soon after the incident, the government forces launched a hunt to nab the attackers.
