An army soldier was found dead in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, said a spokesman on Monday, even as he negated the media reports suggesting that he had died in a ceasefire violation.
“Gunner Trived Prakash posted at Kachhal, Keran Sector, Kupwara was found dead due to fire from [his] service weapon, at sentry post on 07 Mar [20]21.,” said the army spokesman, in a statement.
He further clarified that the fatal injury “did not occur due to any ceasefire violations, as is being reported in some sections of the media”.
