Army soldier was injured in ‘one shot sniper fire’ by Pakistan Rangers in Machil sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, police said.
“The soldier, lance naik, Pradeep Kumar, was injured at Kilo post in Machil sector after a fire came from the front side of the Pakistan area,” senior superintendent of Kupwara Shri Ram Ambarkar said. “The injured soldier was taken to 92 base Army Hospital at Srinagar in critical condition,” he added.
The SP said that Pakistani army also attacked another Indian army’s post located at Kathwali on the side of Gujjardod. “Only one shot was fired towards the Indian post in which no one got injured,” the SP added.
