In a move to decongest traffic, multi-level parking was Monday made operational at JanglatMandi locality of Anantnag town.
Deputy Commissioner AnantnagPiyushSingla inaugurated the facility.
SSP AnantnagAshish Mishra, CEO Municipal Council AnantnagJehangir Ahmad Khanday, President Municipal Council AnantnagHilal Ahmad Shah, Executive Engineer R&B QaziJaved, AEE R&B Anantnag Khalid Manzoor, and other officials from the district administration were also present on the occasion.
The work on the facility was started in the year 2017 to prevent frequent traffic snarls in the town caused due to haphazard parking of vehicles on the roadside.
“The multi-level parking will ease traffic on busy roads,” the DC said.
Locals expect that the facility would to a large extent help in the decongestion of vital road links of town including MehandiKadal, LalChowk-Janglatmandi-Achajipora.
“It is a step in the right direction and we are thankful to the district administration for the much-awaited move,” they said.
